"Not a Box"

The other day Joseph took the kids to Borders and when he asked the clerk for a recommendation of a book he could read to them, the clerk recommended "Not a Box" by Antoinette Portis. When I joined them a few minutes later, I read the book and immediately thought of this photo I had taken a few nights before. The book is very simple, yet so accurately depicts the imagination of a child.

My kids favorite toy is a box. When I bring them home from Costco (a lot of them!) the kids play with them for hours. Larry and I have often joked that all we need to do is get the kids some sturdy boxes for gifts.

So what did you think of the book?
