The agriculture in our area is a sight to behold. We love to drive past the perfectly lined and plowed produce growing all around. There's something satisfying about seeing things growing from the earth in such a massive. organized and precise fashion. It's amazing to think about the cycle of where all of our food comes from, and seeing acres and acres of food grown all around us, causes us to think about it a little more. The other day Joe enjoyed some dried apricots from Costco, and then a few days later while cycling through the country roads, passed the Mariani plant. He came home and checked the bag and sure enough, he noticed right away that the apricots were produced in Vacaville, CA.
Lately, we've been enjoying the sunflower fields just blocks away from our house. Every time I drive past I wonder how many flowers it takes for one bottle of sunflower oil, or one bag of sunflower seeds.....
Before moving to California, when I thought of the state, I thought of things like big city traffic, buildings, Disneyland, beaches....a place to visit, but not a place to live. I've realized those things are definitely a part of California, but there are many different worlds in this big state. The area we live in, just outside Sacramento, is pretty slow paced, not loaded with traffic, with very down to earth people. It's not perfect, but it's just fine for now.

I always thought of California as busy and crowded. When we drove through the Sacramento area last year, I realized it was pretty, green and slow paced. I could live in Northern California. What a great time to document where you live and the beauty that surrounds you.
Your area sure is beautiful! I've never been to that part of California, but seeing those pictures really makes me want to take a vacation there.
Wow! Now I want to come see all beautiful area! We drove down Highway 1 from Seattle once and were amazed at all the dairy farms in Northern California. It is a VERY diverse state! I love all the trees. It reminds me of the south hill here in Spokane (except it is flat - haha)
oh my goodness, those are awesome pictures, love that photography.
What a wonderful place to live. It is so beautiful!
