Does it hurt?
Abby has been known to worry about things that you would think are far above her worrying capacity, whenever we watch a movie, or read a book and there is a conflict that arises, she is overcome with worry and says over and over, "Oh no! I'm just so worried, are they going to be okay?" Sometimes you can't reason with her and she won't stop talking about it. Well, the other night while Joe was putting the kids to bed, she asked him if you had to get a shot to have a baby. He told her "yes" and she became very concerned for me that I was going to have to get a shot. He then tried to explain that if I didn't get the shot, having the baby would hurt REALLY bad and that if I did get the shot, it wouldn't hurt so bad. She just kept saying over and over, "Oh no! Mom, I'm really worried that the shot is going to hurt you!" I explained to her that it wouldn't be too bad and that I would get a little shot first so that I wouldn't even be able to feel the big shot. She replied, "Mom do big honkin' shots hurt?" I again told her that they didn't hurt when you had a little shot so that you wouldn't feel the big shot, she then said to Joe, "Daddy will you pinch me so I can see what the little shot feels like that makes the big honkin' shot not hurt?" Joseph pinched her arm, to which she replied. "Not too bad!" I think we have things resolved for now!
