Amber and I took all of the kids to the Carlsbad Flower Fields. They are a hillside of flowers right above Carlsbad State Beach. It is an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean and beautiful flowers. Amber and I kept talking about how relaxing it would be to come and just sit there alone, but with 7 kids in tow and one in Amber's belly, it was anything but relaxing.

Carlsbad Flower Fields
For Spring Break this year we stayed local since we had just gotten back from Utah for Celeste's wedding. Truthfully, it wasn't a sacrifice to stay local at all. When you live an hour away from Disneyland, 15 minutes from the beach, 35 minutes from SeaWorld, Balboa Park and all the museums and activities there, the Wild Animal Park, and San Diego Zoo, 25 minutes from Legoland as well as a kazillion other fun activities, there is way more than enough to occupy your time. Needless to say, we had a great Spring Break. Joseph thought his new assignment was just around the corner, so he didn't take as much time off as we would have liked, but we did spend some time with him too. His assignment was delayed, so happily we've had him here longer than we expected which I am soooooo grateful for.
