Aaron's 5th Birthday!

Happy Birthday to Aaron! Emotionally Aaron can be a piece of work sometimes, but one thing that I love about this kid is that he appreciates even the smallest things in life. For his birthday all he wanted was a Star Wars cake and to go to Legoland with the family. We made plans to go as a family and then found out that the day we planned to go was Carlsbad Day at Legoland at a deeply discounted rate so we decided to change plans and save Legoland for another day. Instead we headed down to Balboa Park and went to the train museum. It was cool, I liked Sacramento's train museum better, but it was a simple museum that the kids loved. We then ventured over to the Fleet Science Museum where we have annual passes. The kids could roam for hours there and we can get caught up in the wonder of it all too. We saw the IMAX movie "Born to be Wild" and then we asked Aaron what he wanted for dinner. He said mac and cheese, so we headed to Souplantation (it's right up there with Rubio's in our book). Hopefully we'll make it to Legoland before time runs out, but we had a wonderful family day celebrating Aaron. I love this little boy so much! He is very thoughtful. The other day we were eating at Wendy's and I could tell he was thinking about something. He was in a daze and then looked at me with a furrowed brow and said, "Mom, how am I gonna know how to put gas in the car when I'm a dad?" I reassured him that he would know and told him how and then he said, "But how am I gonna know when I'm out of gas?" He's very conscientious and cautious. I love my boy!
