Point Lobos State Reserve~Carmel, CA

We visited Point Lobos State Reserve to see some of the Sea Lions that had just giving birth to their Sea Pups. It was a beautiful hike overlooking the ocean.

Isaac has become quite the little hiker. He's pretty content to sit perched in his little pack taking it all in.

We went to church in the Monterey Ward on Sunday and Joseph ran into one of our ward members from Woodland....small world. Turns out his wife's family is from Carmel, so he attends that ward when they visit. It was a wonderful trip, with wonderful people we love. When we dropped Grandma and Grandpa off at the airport, Aaron started to get a pouty lip and said over and over "Gamma, Gampa..." I too, felt like I was leaving part of my heart there on the curbside, but I am grateful for the memories we were able to create.

What a fun spring break, Carmel is one of my favorite places. I loved Aaron in his diaper, I have that battle daily with Tyler and it drives Mark nuts to see him running around without pants. I guess we pick our battles.

Oh Amy, Isaac is too cute. I could eat him up too.

I love that you did so many fun things while your parents visited. I have never been to San Francisco and would like to go. We have also planned on going the the Jelly Belly factory too. It's so close we might as well. I want some belly flops.

I think the pictures of the baby sea lions are so neat. One of the perks to living by the ocean.

We need to see eachother this Summer. We'll have to plan something.

I just read your post about your rough day with the kids. It was so interesting to read about what your girls fought about. I've been surrounded by boys for so long I had forgotten that clothes were what my sisters and I fought about. My boys don't fight about clothes, but they are certainly always getting in physical/punching/hitting/pushing fights with eachother and I can't stand it. That scripture about teaching your children not to contend with one another always comes into my brain at those moments too.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about dealing with those kind of days. I feel like everyday is a day of survival instead of the organized bliss that I want it to be. It's so frustrating at times but I appreciate your perspective of the atonement and how it can make me a better mother--especially during these challenging times with lots of little ones.

Okay, it's taken me a few days to read all your posts from your trips with your mom and dad.

What a beautiful part of the country you live in! It seems like you could do day and weekend trips for a year and not run out of new places to go and things to see!

I love the pictures of your whole family enjoying the ride. Thank goodness Isaac enjoys the backpack! That makes it all so much easier. I love his smiles! Your kids are all so big!

You guys are such a cute, fabulous, and amazing family! I love reading about your adventures. How did you feel about your Mother's Day talk? I am sure it was amazing...
