Abby's New Do

Abby got a new "do" a few weeks ago. She begged me to keep it a secret from Grandma Rowene until she comes in June, but Abby doesn't understand how hard it is to keep a secret from someone I talk to nearly every day, especially when it's such a cute secret. But, I kept my word, and didn't say a word. Today I was looking at how great it looked, and told Abby that her hair would probably be long again before Grandma saw it, she consented and we took the pictures this morning. Then we were emailed Aunt Melissa's comment this afternoon and so that gave me the umph to get it posted! So thanks Melissa, perfect timing!

Abby has great hair and the cut is very cute with her darling face!

We weren't planning on a haircut, but one day she came and told me that Aaron cut her hair (untrue). Then that night on her way to get her jammies on, she stopped by the bathroom and took a swipe out of her bangs. After this haircut, she stuck her head in a bucket in the backyard and didn't like the way some of her hair hung in her face, so she took another swipe at it. I told her that she couldn't just cut her hair whenever there was a piece out of place, and if she did, I would shave it so that there was no more hair to cut. She hasn't cut since. She cut her bangs about 3/4 inch long. They have grown a little, but there are still some shorter pieces underneath. In this picture, they are still a little wet, but when they dry, they actually look pretty good. When they grow out a bit more, we'll even them up and I think we'll let her keep bangs for a while. Before, she complained alot about getting hair in her face. Hopefully this will help. When she first had it cut, she reminded me of that woman from the new Indiana Jones movie, with the very short bob and blunt bangs. Of course, Abby is much nicer and cuter than that woman.

I love the natural highlights my kids get in their hair. They look better than any colorist could ever do.

Wa-la! We love you Abby, but please, come to us if you want a new haircut! No more doing it yourself.

Cute do. I love that cut, I wish I could pull off shorter hair.

Your kids have beautiful thick hair. I wish I did.

Don't you just love when kids take matters into their own hands? She looks adorable.

How funny! She is so darn adorable, really! Kali's hair is really long, and I secretly fear that she'll chop it off too!

Argh, I hate it when they take scissors to it themselves! Kyrie's done it twice, the first to do it at all. We have the same consequence—if she does it again, I'll cut it boy short. It's worked so far. :-/

Very cute do! I love a-lines on little girls. I cannot get over how old she looks. We just realized the other day that we've been away from Spokane almost as long as we were there. Time flies! We miss you guys.

Your kids have amazing hair. I love it! My question is do you actually blow it dry and round brush it or does it naturally look that good?
Are you guys spending any time in Utah over the summer? We'll be there for most of June-4th of July. If you'll be around I would love to get together.

Abby,

Your haircut is so darling! You look cute in whatever haircut you have because you have such a happy smile:) You will start a new style now I'm sure. And now you don't have to wear those headbands or anything anymore. Yippee!!! Can't wait to see you, Brynn, Aaron and Isaac in 3 weeks and 5 days. I am so excited.

Lindsey, we will be in Utah toward the middle-end of July. I think we might just miss you! I would love to see you guys! We were driving through San Jose on our way back from Monterey last month and thought about you, but we were racing to get my parents to the Oakland airport. Are you still in Sunnyvale? I think of you everytime that lotto commercial comes on about the stay at home mom in Sunnyvale, CA. :) Have you seen it? "Courtney Mortimer"

And Abby's hair, we don't dry or roundbrush, she goes to bed with it wet and she wakes up with it going in every direction possible because she has so much body. I use the flat iron on the bottom so it will lay well. I should take a picture of her before, it's quite funny!
