I love the way Abby's mind works.
We're nearing the end of the short-term lease in the home we are currently in. We have the option of renewing for another year, but the house is too big and the yard is too small. (Not too surprising since this is Southern California we're talking about). Even a little bit more yard will help. We've been working with our landlord to figure out timing so that the transition to our next place will be smooth. It might not be, and we might need to make our summer trip to Utah an extended version to fill in the gaps, but our landlord felt he needed to start advertising our current house just in case the timing is sooner than we expect. I've watched craigslist for the past few days and saw the ad posted Saturday night. What does this mean for us? Well, it means that I need to have the home ready to show at a moment's notice until they find the proper tenants. If you've ever dropped by my house unexpectedly, you'll know that this will be a huge feat. I mean we're sanitary folks, but definitely not clean freaks. Couple that with the fact that our belongings (or lack thereof) have a way of "dumbing things down" it could make for some interesting showings.
I've been talking about it non-stop since the ad was posted. Brynn is annoyed and told me I'm obsessed about having the house clean. Abby's reply was, "Mom, when they call, all you need to do is this, come and get us to make it look like we are playing with the toys that are on the floor, then you don't have to worry about the mess."
What a great way to get out of cleaning up after yourself! ;) Like I said, I love her mind. She thinks on a completely different plane.
