One of the things that is making this a little easier for Brynn is that June is a really busy month for her getting ready for her ballet show with Applegate Dance Studio. This year she has been asked to play the role of young Aurora in Tchaikovsky's classical ballet The Sleeping Beauty. She is also one of the Flower Girls in Act III of the ballet. We are so proud of her and can't wait to see her perform on stage. As the young Aurora she is the only child on stage with all of the teenage and adult dancers and she does so well. She is so sweet and professional, it's been very fun to watch her rehearse. The dress being made for her to wear is absolutely stunning. It will be a fun experience.

Good Bye Sweet Friend!
Brynn had to do something very hard last week. She had to say good-bye to her best friend, Brianna. Brianna's family is moving to Japan for 3 years. It has been lots of fun to see their budding relationship over the past 2 years. Brianna is such a beautiful, smart and good girl, I couldn't have picked a better friend for Brynn. When we found out 6 months ago that she was moving, I had to bite my lip and hold back the tears, but when they left last Friday, we both cried. Brynn has been such a great friend. On a number of occasions, Brynn invited Brianna to church and church activities with us, she is such a great example of a friend and missionary. It never worked out for Brianna to attend, but Brynn never gave up and continued to invite. Before Brianna left Brynn wanted to do something special for her. She wrote a poem about butterflies and then gave Brianna a necklace with a butterfly pendant, she also kept a matching one for herself. I have worked myself up with worry about this whole deal and the emotional impact this would all have on Brynn, but she is dealing with it like a champ and she is finding lots of new friends to play with. It's hard to be the parent and have no control over what your child feels, but it's amazing how some of the greatest spiriual lessons come from being a parent.

Wow! That is a tear jerker! Brynn is such a sweetheart! I'm glad she is making new friends already and adjusting with the change.
How sad. My best friend moved away when I was in first grade as well. Brynn is so sweet I am sure she will make a new friend soon :).
