With Joe at early meetings on Sundays, I start our Sundays pretty early in order to get every head of hair done, every tummy fed, and every body covered. Abby wasn't too thrilled about her early morning picture. It's pretty much a nightmare getting Aaron ready every Sunday. I pull him out of bed, he has to skip his morning cuddle on my shoulder and go straight for the breakfast, and then into the tub. He exits the tub screaming and kicking, I put my feet on his shoulders to pin him down enough to get a diaper on and get him dressed and I then take full advantage of his open mouth for a quick brush of the teeth and buckle him in the carseat. I am usually coevered with wet spots and lotion smudges all over my clothes. Off we go, always hoping that the 30 second drive to the church will calm him down. This Sunday I got dressed last which helped out a bit. After church everyone was all smiles!
I had a meeting after church, so Joe had someone take a picture, then we traded so he could help with tithing and I could go home and finish the Easter dinner prep. They're so cute, I just want to squeeze them all!
I tried to get a photo with Aaron when we got home. This is as far as we got..."Get your hands off me Mom!"
Little Miss Abby
Aaron, going for the messy hair look. We had a good wrestle with the gel as part of our pre-church brawl. His hair grows so fast! For some reason he refused to stand by the girls for pictures. Oh well!
Lunch at the Ellis' with a few other families and the sister missionaries.
It was a beautiful day for an outside Easter dinner. We feasted on ham, turkey, salads, lion house potatoes, yummy bread, boiled eggs with hummus, chips and 7 layer dip, veggies, mixed berry/cream cheese jello salad, and cake and ice cream. It was divine and we left with our tummies way too full! It was fun visiting and watching the kids play, I love that my girls are best friends.
Aaron really enjoyed the cake and ice cream.
In fact, he loved it so much that he helped himself to the rest of the carton.
What a little animal!
Aaron ran around with the big boys playing football after dinner. He was so cute. Every time they threw the ball he would run after it as fast as he could. It's so funny how preprogrammed they are, with two older sisters and spending time with a girly mom all day you would think he wouldn't know what to do, he acted like this is what he does all day long everyday. Hopefully spending so much time with the girls will help him be sensitive to the womenfolk in his life? P.S. I highly recommend the boys tan pants from Gap with Gapshield, a stain resistant something or other. He had smooshed blueberries, blackberries, marionberries, chocolate and grass ALL OVER his pants and it all came completely out.

Those pictures are the cutest things I have seen. Especially Aaron with the whole ice cream scoop in his mouth. I can see the intent and determination in his face. I miss all of you. The girls dresses and sweaters are adorable. I can't wait to see you again soon. It will be so fun to see the little boys in the backyard for a little backyard football. Great blog Ame!!!
Love the pictures Amy. Your kids are darling and of course you look great too. I love the pictures of the girls in their dresses. I remember getting an Easter dress each year and feeling oh so pretty wearing it.
Everyone looked so cute in their Easter clothes! Sounds like you put on the royal feast...can I come next time??
I LOVE your pictures!! You totally coordinated! I adore those dresses! I love the scrunchy tops - so cute! You look great! Your girls' hair is so thick and pretty! Joe and Aaron should be called Me and Mini-Me.
ARG!!! I totally meant to say that I agree with you about the Gap pants - EVERYTHING comes out in the wash (no toothbrush scrubbing necessary) AND Matthew is wearing the ones we bought for Daniel, which means they survived Joseph, no small feat!! Everything survives Daniel with his CP - except his shoes - but surviving Joseph well, that is another story!
AND, I totally relate to your Sunday morning struggle. We used to have to pin Ben's legs under our thighs, and his shoulders under our ankles to change his diaper or get him dressed. All of my boys, including the one I am married to, require monthly haircuts - and you can see with Ben what happens in just TWO months. With four boys, the best thing I learned to do was cut their hair!
Okay, NOW I am done!
I love the pink dresses on Brynn and Abby. They are such pretty girls. You all look so Spring like. I love that your ward had an egg hunt. That is so fabulous.
I love the girl's dresses! They look so pretty in them. Aaron is such a cute boy, I can tell he keeps you hopping!
Isn't church great as a single mom? Have you thought about night baths? We started that long ago. Your girls are so cute in their dresses. And now you know why I don't have that many pictures of my kids. They do that same thing Aaron did for every picture!!
I loved the pictures! Brynn and Abby's dresses are adorable! Aaron is such a little cutie I see the mischief in his eyes. Do they make those Gap pants for adults? Mark could use some. Just Kidding but that would be great!
oh my goodness, how can your little boy be that big already? i can't believe how cute your kids are. glad to see the update. i am going to forward your blog to my parents, they were asking if we had kept in contact with you guys when we were there over easter. have an awesome weekend. tatum merrill
beautiful kids! i especially love the pic with abby's pouty face. how do you curl the girls hair so cute?
i can't wait until it is warm enough here to eat outside!
i have to get some of those pants for my little animal.
Cute dresses! I've never had boiled eggs with hummus, although I'm a huge fan of them separately. Do you mash and mix them, or top the eggs, or what?
Laura, You make them like normal deviled aggs, but just put the hummus in place of the egg yolk mixture. I like hummus with crackers and veggies, but I prefer normal deviled eggs to these ones.
Kory, I don't think they make them for adults :) but while I was at target the other day I noticed they make a church type cotton trouser with a stain shield for boys. Too big for Aaron, but they would probably fit Gavin and I'll bet their less expensive, and they had a few different colors.
