It was funny watching our kids play. I love to see their little personalities come out especially through play. Okay...so who is more like Joe and who is more like Amy in the way they play? Can you guess?
Brynn's version of playing in the sand. Abby's version of playing in the sand.
Aaron teasing Daddy with his hat!
Aaron loved the water. Joe held him while he sat the water for about 10 minutes. He was as content as can be and each time a little wave would come he would giggle with his cute little belly laugh! I love these moments!
We took Aaron's sand rake away for the picture. Bad move. He is not a happy man!
Brynn was amazed at the size of this pine cone. She also brought home a rock the same size to remember our time at Lake Tahoe, she named the boulder "ROCKY!"
Laying out Abby style...
This was a fun destination to discover forour family and it's not to far off the beaten path for us CaLEEfornians. We were in heaven. We will definitely be heading back soon. The entire trip was filled with comments from Joseph that went like this, "Okay, this is cool!....I love it here!.....This is just amazing!....Have I told you how cool this place is?....Can I just say this is the coolest place ever!" I didn't get tired of the comments because I was thinking the same thing. Absolutely beautiful, and soooo much to do. We were really impressed by the variety of choices available for any type of vacation you could dream of...if camping is your thing...there's camping, rustic cabins, cheap motels, nice hotels, biking, swimming, boating, golfing...just to name a few.
As we left Joe said, "I could totally live here. " I asked him what he would do for work. He proceeded to tell me all the things he could do, but he also didn't think he would make enough money to enjoy life doing any of the things he mentioned. (We did see a few law firms...) Then just as we were heading for the road home, we passed a sign with an arrow that said, "Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center" Ha! We could live here! We had to drive past the rehab hospital...it was a funny moment. So if anyone hears word that the Lake Tahoe Skilled Nursing and Rehab Hospital is in need of a new administrator, we are there!

Oh my gosh, I've seen your comments on the Harrises page, but didn't know it was you! Glad I found you! Your vacation looks so awesome! It's already getting too cold to swim here so sand & sun look very inviting. Glad you can relate with my work blog. I guess you have to "be there" to get most of the stuff. And by the way, what tree did that pine cone come from? It's frightening! --Julie Powell
You were in Tahoe and didn't come see us. Why not?
Julie - I'm glad you found us. I need to change our identity to our names so people know who is leaving a comment. :) I look forward to keeping in touch.
Kristina - I thought of you guys the whole time. I kept thinking, "maybe they're here and we'll run into them..." Joe planned this trip sort of last minute and we were supposed to just be in the North Shore, but he got curious and decided to drive around to the South side as well. We almost called, but because it was last minute figured you guys would probably already have labor day plans. Which shore do you guys go to when you visit Tahoe and how far away are you anyway?
Hi Amy,
It's Cheryl Nance Jackson. I read your post on Amanda Fish Pew's site and linked over to yours.
I actually ran into your Mom at the temple a few weeks ago and she updated me briefly on your family. Your kids are getting so big and are totally Lee's! I love it! It's hard to believe how fast time passes.
I love that you have a Brynn. One of my twin girls is Brynn. People have never heard of the name. She's been called BrLynn, Brian and Bree before. Seriously, it's not that hard of a name.
I hope you are liking California. Rich went to school in Palo Alto and I'll always love Northern California and it's beauty.
My site is cherylandrich.blogspot.com, but since I gush info about my kids, I have a sign in. If you want, send me your email at cnjackson@hotmail.com and I'll mail you a link.
Hope all is well!
Cheryl
Now I'm jealous. Tahoe is so beautiful! I love the differences between Bryn and Abby!! :D
We are about 40 minutes from Tahoe. We thought about going up there on Labor Day but decided it may be way too crowded. We usually go to Sand Harbor which is North East side. If you wanted we could meet at Zephyr Cove and ride the ferry to Emerald Bay. We did it last year with Paul's parents. I could certainly do it again. It's absolutely beautiful.
Looks like you guys had a ton of fun! What a fun place..I'd like to venture over there one day!
Looks like us Frandsens need a Tahoe trip! We'll tell you if we go... we could meet there??
Lee Famlee,
I love those pictures of the kids in Tahoe. Wouldn't that be a fun family reunion. We would all love it. We were wondering if you saw any of the aftermath of the fires? It is so beautiful and nice and cool this time of year and there are so many things to do. Years ago when we vacationied there it wasn't quite as developed. I loved seeing the swing sets right on the sandy beach. But most of all I love seeing those cute grandkids playing and smiling. Wish we could have been there. They are the best! Sure love ya, Grandma Rowene
Cheryl - So glad you found us. It will be fun to keep in touch!
Alyson - We are tyring to lure you our way.
Kristina - We would love to meet you guys there sometime. How nice for you to be so close to such a wonderful place! I was wondering if there was a ferry ride anywhere on the lake. Good to know there is...Brynn loves boat rides (and so do the rest of us).
Amy F. - We totally think you guys should come up this way. We actually thought about you guys while we were there because we saw quite a few Urgent Care/Emergency type centers. Paul could be Tahoe's premiere ER doctor. Wouldn't our guys be in heaven? I would be too! Only in our dreams! Ha! Thanks for stopping by!
Mom - Glad you liked the pictures...Joe asked if I had ever been to Tahoe, I know you and Dad went almost every year when I was young, but I think I remember Dad telling me that we went as family when I was really young?
What a fun, relaxing trip! I can't get over your kids gorgeous reddish hair. They are all so adorable. I didn't know you named your son, Aaron, either. You don't hear it very much lately... and it's such a good name! So glad your blog is up and running. I love the updates!
You guys have the cutest family ever!!! -rachel sant
