Abby: Mom, I'm sure glad to have a friend who's already lived half their life. It's pretty cool.
Mom: Yea, who's that friend?
Abby: You!
Mom: Oh, thanks Abby, but let's hope I haven't lived half of my life yet.
Abby: Yea, you've lived about 33% of your life.
Mom: That's more like it. :)

Lunch on Oceanside Pier
On Saturday at the end of our Vest Family Reunion in October, we checked out of our hotel and then went shopping at the Carlsbad outlets. Chad and Jenn went to Legoland. We went to lunch at Ruby's at the end of Oceanside Pier and then we headed back to our house to do our manner's skits. After a fun night, Scott and Annette headed back to Utah. Everyone else left on Sunday and Monday. We were sad to see them go, but we feel blessed that we were able to see family during almost every month of 2010. I think the only month we didn't see family was in August.

Legoland
Jack and Adam came for a visit in September. They flew in on a Thursday night and on Friday Joseph and Adam took Aaron and Jack to Legoland. The boys were in heaven. They loved it! After a full day at Legoland, they had dinner and then headed to see the Padres play. On Saturday, we had our Primary Program Practice in the morning, and then we all headed to Torrey Pines State Beach to play. We played with our body boards, swam and visited Aaron's "pirate ship" to see the sea anemones. When the kids were done, I took them for pizza while Joseph and Adam tried to find some bigger waves to use the body boards on.
On the way home in the car, it was fun for my kids to get time with Jack. Usually when we're with cousins, especially on Joseph's side, we are in a large group and the kids play with certain cousins. Everyone was able to get to know Jack better. They all got along so well. He said a couple of cute things that made me smile. The girls told him that it doesn't snow where we live and he asked if Santa Claus still visits. It was fun to get to know him better, and Joseph loved being with Adam for the weekend.

Hiking in St. George
My computer will finally download photos. Back in October, we left for the marathon weekend Thursday afternoon and stopped in Vegas to see our friends Scott and Stephanie and their kids. We met at Jason's deli for an yummy dinner. It was fun to catch up and see how their cute family has grown.
On Friday, we went hiking in the red rocks above St. George, picked up the info from the expo and went to Brick Oven to eat. Joe and my parents took the kids to see Tarzan at Tuachan, while I slept (or tried to sleep). It was a fun weekend, the only thing that would have made it funner, is if the idea and reality of running a marathon wouldn't have been before me, but that's why we were there. I'm glad everyone enjoyed themselves.
